why health care reform needs to happen.

My math teacher and his wife rent their house in Washington state to one of their friends for a low price. Recently, she fainted and had to stay in the hospital overnight and because she couldn’t afford health insurance, she has been charged $35,000. So because she couldn’t afford health insurance she has been charged higher. Go figure. Now that she’s trying to pay this, her wages are being sent directly to the bill and she cannot afford her son to attend college anymore.

that’s why the health care reform bill needs to happen.

FML.

Scott Brown won. If I said that last month people would be cracking up, but today it’s not funny. I just don’t know how to deal with Massachusetts. I know a lot of people are saying that teenagers are literally just repeating what their parents are saying, but like myself, A LOT of teenagers actually care about politics. I don’t really have much to say except how sad I am and how much I feel for Vicki Kennedy, now more than ever, that her husband’s seat was taken by Scott Brown. WTF.

2010 off to a rocky start.

I wish I was able to vote. I am more involved/interested in politics than most US eligible voters, which bothers me. It says on the signs reminding people to vote that it is “Our duty to vote.” So on Super Tuesday, VOTE!

Anyway, you’re probably wondering why I wish I was able to vote. Well, the Massachusetts Special Election is why I wish I was able to vote. As much as I had wanted Alan Khazei to be senator, Martha Coakley’s ideas are going to work unlike the other two candidates’. I’m terrified Scott Brown could be the next Massachusetts Senator (but let me tell you, if he is, I sure can’t wait to vote against him in six years).

January 15, Bill Clinton supporting Martha Coakley. Best picture out of the bunch.. it's taking too long to load the other pictures.

Alright, on another note, I hope everyone is doing their part on helping Haiti after the terrible earthquake the suffered on Tuesday. Yesterday at the Martha Coakley rally, Bill Clinton told everyone, and now I’m telling you to text “Haiti” to 20-222. $10 will be billed to your phone and the money will go to the Clinton Foundation in order to help Haiti. Also, if you want to help Haiti in a more selfish way, there are some really cool shirts on cafepress.com donating proceeds to Haiti or do what I did and buy the Lady Gaga Haiti Relief T-Shirt. However you do it though, help Haiti by donating money because that is what the Haitian citizens need right now.

Also, if you have nothing to do on MLK Jr. Day and live in the Boston area, come to Jordan Hall and see the Boston Children’s Chorus!

So, I’m pretty pumped about 2010, not gonna lie. I’m usually not this excited but the new decade thing kinda got to me. I don’t have many resolutions this year, but I guess I can manage to share them with you.

I’m exhausted and sick and I want to go back to school.

I always hate love how the days you’re absent because you’re sick are the days you’re up later then you want to doing homework. Just knowing you could stay sick because of lack of sleep is so nauseating comforting.

3. Peach, Plum, Pear- Joanna Newsom

New Directions

So many new things this year.

New friends (yes Elizabeth, I have friends), new part of the chorus, new teachers, new.. principal, new… well you get the deal.

Also, new blogging style.

As many of my old blog readers (aka family members…) know, my blog was on hiatus for a little while but… it’s back. But back to new blogging style.

Instead of doing a lot of talking, I’ll be doing a little talking, and then writing up a playlist. I got the idea from one of my friends, and trust me, it’s a lot more fun to listen then to read. (Well…. for me at least.)

The playlists are really just what I’m listening to. Listen to them apart from the post, or with it.

Some of the playlists will be giant puns (or may include some, today you’ll understand if you watch Glee), I’m warning you.
